Yin Yoga
January 24, 7:00-8:30pm A Yin Yoga class is the perfect way to relax and unwind at the end a week! Held on Friday nights once a month.
Yin Yoga is a gentle practice deeply rooted in the tradition of Classical Hatha Yoga. A yoga based class means each person works within their own limits. Candy will guide you through a series of yoga poses and demonstrate how to use props for your level of comfort. In each pose awareness is on passively releasing muscles and breathing so you can let go of restrictions in your tighter areas like low back, hips and shoulders.
The propped poses help one to go deeper into connective tissues and energies. Blankets, blocks and bolsters are used to make each pose accessible to everyone. The longer holds (3 minutes) brings the practitioner into a meditative state connecting mind and body to help release stress, tension and restore balance.
